We can still do this!

We're down to our last week and we're still sitting strong at nearly 70% funded! We only need a little more to go guys and we can certainly do it this time.  I'm still floored at the reception, support, and progress TFA has made! For those unaware, I originally launched a campaign over 2 years ago and, in that time, so much has changed. That first campaign was a very good teaching moment and it helped to propel us into the direction that the game is going in now.  Oh, and speaking of great teaching tools!

Major Updates?!?

So very excited to finally be talking about this! I finally got my hands on Valve's Steam Deck! For those who haven't heard, it's a handheld pc that combines the joys of portable gaming with the versatility of a full-fledged desktop. I've been having a blast setting it up, but most relevant to this update is that since I have it, I can now target it as a platform for TFA! 

This is very exciting because having a fixed target that I can aim for will yield a much better experience overall for players. So far without optimizations or any tweaking to the game I've found that TFA runs pretty well! It's a bit variable right now in the overworld, looking at anywhere from 45-60fps in most levels, but combat is a locked 60! Very smooth and makes timing your attacks all the smoother! 

If you're interested in playing TFA on your steam deck, then please have at it! Mostly everything works right out of the box save for the loading screen videos. Those will display an error TV color screen but no worries! You can fix that with Proton-GE!  Proton is a compatibility layer that allows the steam deck to play windows games, and the GE version is a very special version that fixes a lot of video related bugs and generally ups the compatibility for a lot of games. I recommend this tutorial for a quick start guide. 

Well, that'll be all for this update! Again, I want to implore everyone this week to really go all out with sharing the campaign wherever applicable. Let's finish strong and really get TFA's name out there. We've already made great impressions since the start of the campaign but let's not turn down the pressure now!
