Next Fest Wrap-Up
Whoa, everyone! What a wild ride Steam Next Fest was! I got to stream TFA, and it was honestly incredible. I was a bit nervous playing through my own game like that. It's not often that I take a step back to look at it through the lens of a regular player, but it's a practice I should totally do more. Anyhow the demo seemed to do very well! Had a lot of downloads and people adding it to their Steam library which I very much appreciate.
Demo Updates!
So, like the title said there are going to be some updates coming to the demo! This set of updates will focus on the exploration side of the game. Want to do some cleaning up to the overall feel and look of things. The first of which is going to be adding the rest of the NPC's dialogue portraits! It's a small touch, but it does go a long way towards engaging with characters and the world at large.
poor camera Next on the demo list to fix are some poor camera angles that plagued certain levels. I've been going through the levels one by one and adjusting the camera to better guide peeps to objectives, and overall make the game handle nicer. In TFA's current form, fixed camera angles determine the character's movement and direction. I chain these camera angles together to create wide panning shots or sharp turns to one direction. I'm trying to get away from the sharp turning of the camera so forgive me while I still work through this. Though I do think this next update will make the levels feel much nicer to move about in.
Lighting is also something else on my list of exploration elements to tweak. I know some rooms can be too dark or others have light that's a bit "off." Trying to dial this in as best I can. Going to be going back to square one and studying up on how light should look and behave in scenes similar to the demo ones. Don't want exploration to be a slog because people have a hard time taking in the environmental cues the world is supposed to give off.

Campaign Progress
Also wanted to say thank you to everyone who's been pledging, sharing TFA around, and just plain being awesome peeps! We're almost to 5K and I believe we can get that in the next few days! I really want to keep this momentum up so if you guys, please, please, please could keep sharing the project around! It's honestly working and I'm getting messages from people saying that they've found the campaign from just individuals sharing it in different places! Grassroots outreach works so let's keep it up guys! I look forward to making more updates and progress on TFA for you all. Stay awesome everyone!
